Where We Offer Representation

          Ezra Huber is an attorney who, for the past 33 years, has concentrated his practice in the field of estate planning, asset protection and “Elder Law.” 

          His expertise includes counseling clients on how to protect assets against the cost of a catastrophic medical illness or nursing home stay estate planning to avoid probate, for example by using living trusts, and  assisting families with disabled children plan for their lifetime needs.

          He has lectured extensively on these and related topics for, among other groups, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the New York State, Nassau County and New York City Bar Associations, as well as for many other professional and charitable organizations such as the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, Foundation for Accounting Education, AMI/LAMP and local chapters of AARP.  He is past chairman of the Elder Law committee of the New York County Bar Association.

          He is a former adjunct professor of law at both the Adelphi University and Hofstra University Lawyer’s Assistant Programs, a former editor of the McGraw-Hill newsletter ElderCare Law and the author or co-author of five books and countless shorter articles on the subject of Elder Law and asset protection planning.

          Among his accomplishments, his pioneering litigation led to the enactment of Federal legislation protecting family members of nursing home residents from personal liability for paying such costs, and he has also drafted legislation that protects the heirs of divorced individuals against certain claims by the surviving ex-spouses to such assets as life insurance proceeds.
